Theron & I took TJ and Sammy with us and went to see Fireproof last Friday. It is a great movie! It was rather neat to see that the theater we attended even allowed a church to be outside the theater doors (inside the theater hallway) and hand out tracks!! They were about how to have a happy marriage, but they also had the plan of salvation in them. Pretty awesome!
Kirk Cameron kisses his "wife" in the movie. I was thinking that usually the movies this church puts out don't have their actors/actresses kissing, etc. Well, I found out later that evening that the person he kisses onscreen is his real wife!! She came to the set and was the body double for the actress playing his wife in the movie. So, he never kissed the actress, they shot the scene in silhouette and his real wife dressed as his onscreen wife. He said he has that conviction that even as an actor, he won't kiss anyone but his wife!! Just thought I'd share that, as I thought it pretty unusual even for a Christian actor!! He didn't get paid for his part in the movie, but the production company did make a donation to a camp he and his wife oversee for critically ill children.
If you get the chance, go see this movie. It was number 4 in the nation last week, and had only opened in 837 theaters...most Hollywood movies open in approx. 2000 theaters!!
