TBC Missions Conference 2009

Every year our church holds a Missions Conference. We usually have a Wed night intro night with a missionary or two. Then on Saturday, we have a dinner fellowship and missionaries are there. On Sunday the whole day of services is dedicated to Missions, also. It is always such a blessing to hear different missionaries from all over the world share their burdens for unsaved souls. Here are a few pictures from tonight's dinner. I hope to have more pics tomorrow. One of our missionary families this year is heading to Arctic Siberia. What a great blessing to hear their burden for souls in an almost forgotten area of our world!

Here are some of the tables set up for the food and fellowship time. The two people in the foreground are our missionaries (and friends) to Chuuk, The Phillips.

Pastor Reid kicking off the evening with announcements.

Another view of the room set up for diner. Hi, Rachael!!

One more view. Isn't it fun to enlarge the pics and look at peoples' expressions?? :)

One of our cute little boys, Zack!

Johnny, Joey and TJ were tagged to help with the juniors. They had their hands full!!

Aren't they cute, all dressed alike?

And here is another cutie. I asked him if I could take his picture, as when I walked up he had tons of chocolate all over his face. He promptly grabbed a napkin and wiped his face. I said, "No, don't do that, the chocolate will make it an even better picture!" So, he grinned really big.

My Sweetheart

Theron is romantic 365 days a year!! He really is great at making me feel special. On Thursday, I received a beautiful bouquet of tulips in a pretty red vase. That evening, we went out to dinner. I don't like to go out on Valentines Day, as the restaurants are just too crowded. We went to our friend's wonderful Korean restaurant, Choi's Korean Kitchen. On Valentines Day, we exchanged our cards, candy and gifts. I love the holidays that fall on weekends, as that means the celebration lasts all weekend long!! :) Isn't that a rule in every house?

Moving Day

Our good friends, the Hornbrooks, moved last weekend. Theron, TJ and I, along with lots of their other friends and family helped them move into their beautiful new home. We proved that work can be fun!! :) Moving the freezer using Theron's straps he brought along
to see if the TV commercial was true. It was!!
Jon gave Mikaela a lift! She loved it! I tried to get him to give Mallory and me a ride, but he just laughed! Imagine that!!

Mikaela & Katie played with some of the toys as we were moving boxes and furniture all around them. The kids were all very patient. Mikaela has a piece of chocolate in her mouth in this picture. Her uncle had given her some Valentine candy and when he would hand her one, she'd put the whole thing in her mouth. She also loved keeping a hand in her pocket. :)

Here are some of the guys in the UHaul organizing the furniture.

More pics of the UHaul.

Here are Mikaela and Michael swinging on the swingset. The man in the background is Amanda's dad, who was taking apart the swingset! Hmmm. Don't worry it didn't compromise the swings at this point! :)

The guys really worked hard getting all the boxes and furniture into the vehicles. Pastor Mike is the one in the foreground on the right. He was in a serious motorcycle accident on his way home from the Hornbrooks' new house. He ruptured his spleen and underwent emergency surgery later that evening. Mike is still in the hospital but should be going home soon. He is an awesome youth pastor, and we are all praying for his speedy recovery. We are so thankful he is on the mend and that the accident wasn't even worse than it was.

Mikaela found her bike on the porch so rode back and forth happily as the adults moved the "stuff". :) She is so cute!!

Temple Baptist Church Steeple All Lit Up

Our church steeple has not been lit since we moved into our new building about a year and a half ago. We are getting ready to begin another building project, as the Lord is blessing us with another growth spurt. Before doing that we are putting the finishing touches on the building. There's an electrician who is part of our church family, and he came and spent many hours instaling the lighting for the steeple. He did a great job, and it is beautiful!! Way to go, Bob!! Oh, and TJ took some of these and I took some. :)
