Fun Stuff in December

We have been busy this week. Samantha and Chrissy made cookies for Sam's teachers on Thursday evening. On Friday, Theron and I took Mary and Chrissy to dinner and a movie. We came home and made cookies. It was a neat night. Theron also had roses delivered to me on Friday in celebration of our 23rd anniversary on the 21st!! He is so thoughtful.
Yum, Yum

Chrissy being silly, not sure WHERE she gets that!!

My Roses

Mary & Nathan

Mary and Chrissy are home from college now and we are so enjoying having them home. Mary loves to cook, and Chrissy enjoys housework, so I am not having to work as hard as I normally do to keep the house going. It is GREAT!This doesn't look as appetizing in this pic as it actually did. She made up her own recipe for steak fajita stew/chili. I thought she was doing Taco Soup, but she ended up doing her own thing. It was GREAT,but super super spicy. She also made cheese quesadillas.

Mary & Nathan

Mary babysat for Nathan, the little boy who I babysat for his first year. He is so sweet and funny and VERY smart. He had us laughing all day long.

Chrissy and I went shopping while he was here, and brought home some small Christmas gifts for him. He was so excited!

We brought out some of TJ's old toys and Nathan had a good time playing with them.

Nathan loves playing Wii, so he played against all of us at some point during the day.

White Elephant Party TBC

Every year Temple Baptist Church has a White Elephant Gift Exchange for the all the adults in the church. It is always tons of fun!! Pastor Reid is the Emcee for the night, and he does an outstanding job. He is hilarious!! Here are a few pictures from this year's party.

Jon Blakemore was pushing around Landon and Mikaela around and somehow TJ ended up on it, too.

Michael joined in the fun, too. I wonder if TJ would like one of these for Christmas!!

Happy Birthday, Mary & Chrissy!!

Today is Chrissy and Mary's 20th Birthday. I've talked to both of them a couple of times, and I think they had a good day. I surprised them and ordered a Rice Krispies treat cake from PCC. One of their friends took them out for dinner. Here are a few pictures of them from over the past couple of years. I didn't get the chance to scan any little girl pictures of them today, but hope to do that soon. :) We love you, Mary and Chrissy, are very proud of you and the sweet young women you have become. I can't wait to see what God has in store for you as you follow Him. Mary and Chrissy with their three brothers a few years ago.

Climbing the Wall

PCC has a new sports complex. There is a wonderful waterpark, inline skating, and rock climbing wall. They are not finished yet, but here are a few pictures of the complex, and me on the wall!! This is taken on the top floor. The inline rink is the area all around the top floor overlooking the rockclimbing wall and bottom floors. The waterpark is behind me here and the rock wall in front at the other end. It is all very beautiful!!
This is the wall I climbed. The person in the middle on the bottom is on the one I climbed and almost made to the top. The other line I tried was a few over to the right and was harder.

Figuring it out. They give you shoes to wear and hand you the harness. I told her I had no idea how to put it on, so she showed me how to step into it. It was SO fun!

I took this one as we walked in. To the left is this big rock that you will be able to climb on top of and sit on. However, it isn't done yet. This room is huge and has tons of places to climb.

This is the first one I tried. It was like a puzzle trying to figure out where the best place was to place my hands and feet.

Still climbing.

Almost to the top!! It was SO fun!! I could have done it, but my arms were so shaky from the numerous attempts on the first wall I climbed. I just let go and rapelled down.

Posing for Mary and then I let go. I was the oldest one on the walls, but it didn't matter. I had tons of fun and wish I could have done it more. I told Theron I want a rock wall for Christmas, but he didn't seem to like that idea. haha It really was a GREAT workout, though. My arms and upper back were very sore for a couple of days.

Miscellaneous Perdido and Thanksgiving Pics

On Tuesday night, Mary cooked her chicken enchiladas and homemade salsa for dinner. Two of the girls friends came over for dinner, too. We had a nice time.Mary cooking away!

Lydia, Liz, Mary and Sam playing Picture, Picture.

Chrissy and TJ after the Thanksgiving Praise service on Thanksgiving morning. Theron and Sam stayed home getting some of the dinner stuff ready. Mary had to leave right after the service to get ready to play with the band for the Turkey Bowl. TJ and I left right after this and then the girls and Lydia came out later in the afternoon.

A view of Griffith tower on the left and the clock tower in the middle. Very pretty, but loud!

A pretty view of a sunset from the balcony.

I kept trying to get pictures of birds and they would run like crazy away. It was funny.

Another pretty view

We had Lydia take our family picture for us right before we ate Thanksgiving dinner. These are my two favorites. I think the 2nd one will be the one we put in our Christmas cards.

More Perdido Key Shots

I just kept snapping pictures of the scenes on Perdido Key. Of course, photos don't do them justice, but here are a few of the many I shot. Walking on the beach watcing the sunset.
Samantha, Mary, & TJ...Chrissy was working and came later. She and I walked on the beach late at night, but it was too dark for pictures!

The view from our balcony. When you look out from the couch in the family room, you can't even see the sand, only water!

The view looking down the balcony. The first set of doors on the right are to one of the master bedrooms and the next one is the other master bedroom. The next ones, in the alcove on the right, where the other chairs are, are the glass doors to the family room.
